I had to study this movie in highschool.

Other than that though it was pretty good.

And while we're talking about other films, I might as well talk about some as well.

I rewatched gattaca the other day, and I didn't really like it. The forensics performed by the police was terrible - as if they wouldn't have gotten the spit in the dead guy's eye on the first sweep of the body? The guys from CSI would have gotten it (ha ha). I also think it's unfortunate because, presuming whatsisname survives his space mission without dying from his supposed heart condition and jeopardising his crew, his life would be ruined anyway as they are changing standard procedure to IV blood sampling.

Also, presuming his parents were genetically engineered themselves (assuming the GE wasn't newly enforced, and if so then it wouldn't be so entrenched in society so soon), the chances of having a child born quite as inferior as the main character is astoundingly low. Also also, they say that they can't perform surgery on his eyes because the scars would be visible. Guys, lasic! No scars! I know they didn't have lasic back then, but it's sci fi!

For a "mature" movie, it sure is full of plot holes.

All this Gattaca talk has reminded me that I need to go out and buy the Blu-ray of it.

I can never really truly see eye to eye with anyone who likes it. People like Guillermo Del Toro.
