You didn't even criticize the subject matter directly, as you assert. So to "counter" your argument or lack thereof isn't a concern; and as for ad hominem attacks, they aren't in and of themselves an invalid form of argument. But since you weren't really arguing anything, but rather just carping: if I were to have made one, it would have been entirely appropriate here. Before you throw around a phrase, learn what it means and how to use it. (And no, reading some tutorial on the internet doesn't count, nor does the misuse of the term by lawyerly example). Two things more things: first, we know you're not an FCC bureacrat. Strictly speaking, I didn't call you one. I employed a simile. Second, I'm not going to hold you by the hand and take you through Quintillian, but your original post is an "ad homines" argument. I say enough is enough when it comes to misusing Latin.

As an aside, this entire thread reminds me of an old SNL skit with Chevy Chase and Richard Prior. Chase is interviewing Prior for a job, and decides to play "word association." This begins like "hot - cold", "day - night", etc., and then Chase says "Black", to which Prior responds "White". This escalates with various racial epithets until Chase has Prior screaming "h****y, h****y.". Chase then uses the "n" word, to which Prior responds "DEAD h****y." Probably not too funny in print, but worth seeing.

You really must read your posts and my responses because they don't hold water. A perfect example is: I said "I'm not like an FCC bureaucrat" to which you responded "first, we know you're not an FCC bureacrat. Strictly speaking, I didn't call you one. I employed a simile." Your response towards my statement in which I said I am not "˜LIKE' an FCC bureaucrat was that you employed a simile, which states that I wrote that I was like an FCC bureaucrat, which is not what I wrote. Just a little reworking....don't have time for more but it was pretty good. BTW I got a french track on my DVD if somebody thinks it's really important....which I doubt.
