I have a bespoke tailor from Thailand I absolutely love working with. He has sold me 7 suits now and I just tried out my first custom shirt from him.
I want to get some white shirts as he has a large selection of textured or patterned shirts. I am attaching pics here of a few samples. He has a bunch more - diamonds, dots, stripes, etc.
For background, I am an executive but I am also a big guy (6’2”, 260, 18.5 neck 36/37). I am excited to now be able to pick a color/pattern shirt and make it fit me rather than just take whatever is in stock.
Here are my questions
1. Is it unprofessional to wear a textured or patterned white on white shirt with a suit? Where do you draw the line?
2. What about colored buttons? I am thinking of getting dark grey or blue buttons with these shirts. That way I don’t have the “waiter look” when you see me coming down the hall.
3. How about colored stitching on the buttons? I personally think it’s too casual. But looking for thoughts.
