Just wanted to chime in and agree that these are excellent lately. I used to hate the label. Now if only they'd do something about the shoes...

I visited Barneys in the Dallas North Park store yesterday. A salesman told me that their private label jackets are made by Caruso, and felt that it was the best value on the floor.

Thought I'd resurrect this thread.

Picked up a Barney's House Label sportcoat yesterday made by Rafaelle Caruso. I wrote in this thread last year that I was impressed with the fabrics but not the fit OTR of Barneys House Label tailored clothing. Well I still feel somewhat same way, but I had been used to buying Caruso for RLBL at the time of my post which only required a shortening of the sleeves. This jacket still fits very nicely through the shoulders and chest but is cut fuller in the waist. It's just a simple manner of taking the waist in and it will be a perfect fit. Sleeves come basted. It's a very nice coat. The shoulders are clean and soft. I would put it a higher finish level than RLBL, but maybe not quite as high as my RC for Adriano&Sons. It feels like I am wearing another shirt, very light in construction.

They are on sale right now for $646 from $1395. Not the best price by any means on SF for a RC jacket, but it's still over 60% off. I really like the pattern of mine, dark brown base with a purple and charcoal windowpane. Fabric is made by Carlo Barbera and is 35% silk, 35% mohair, 25% wool, and 5% cashmere. They also have a nice gun check in a blue hue with brown/rust in it as well as a nice green glen plaid sportcoat w/navy overcheck that would probably be pretty impractical for non dandy use.

Overall, I think as with all things Caruso, Barneys House label is a great value.
