Dear Folks who Know Japanese Brands:

Saw this at auction.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...1491&rd=1&rd=1

I'm into shirt jackets lately, but what is this brand? All I can find are some Yahoo Japan auction items. Styling looks decent. This particular ebay seller is no good for detailed info.

Anyone know more?

I too took a liking to this shirt-jacket and am very curious about the brand. Looked it up both on Google and on eBay and found nothing

Got the thing in the mail.

It's odd, but I like it.

What is not visible in the photo is the two large breast pockets. Like the wrists, they fasten with velcro. The fabric feels like a superstiff linen/nylon blend, but the label states cotton. The arms are the right length [34/35] and the cut is fairly full, 46/48 inches, like an overshirt. This was what I wanted. The neutral color looks good against black. Also, the small word on the label is 'landward,' not sure if this helps brand ID.

Overall, a happy deal.

I think a Japanese brand name wiki might not be a bad idea. Some of the stuff is quite well crafted (though some is dreck). I have a few rather inexpensive Japanese suits that are made to higher standard (machine canvased, etc) that comparable items sold in the States.
