I'm not sure dark brown shoes are ever considered "formal", strictly speaking. But shoes with brown uppers and brown heels are no less formal than shoes with brown uppers and black heels.
I think Kent Wang mentioned that dark brown "captoes" can be worn in almost any setting aside from a black-tie event. Not that his words are the end of all debates, but just using it as reference. I apologize if I didn't use captoes in my previous description.

When I shine my shoes, I always find they are shinier BEFORE I buff, and when I do buff them, they are still shiny but somewhat duller. Anyone know why this is, and should I continue buffing?

This might sound stupid but mind you English is not my first language: if a sweater description says "long sleeves", does it mean the sleeves are longer than the usual sweaters or just the face that the sweater has long sleeves, as opposed to short sleeves? (As if there are sweaters with short sleeves??)
Just the fact that they have long sleeves. Not sure if short-sleeve sweaters exist.

Epaulet cuffs?? Found a Caruso sports jacket on Yoox that I'm interested in. The description says that it has epaulet cuffs. Anyone know what that means? Is this another way of saying functional cuffs?

Can you help identify these shoes? I picked them up today second-hand: The insoles say "Superfeet" (indeed, a brand of insoles), but otherwise there are no identifying marks. Thanks!
those look exactly like the ~$20 shoes urban outfitters carry

Does anybody know of some skinny wool pants? I'm thinking something of a more "rough" looking gray wool. Or navy blue is alright. It would most likely be paired with a nice bright blue shirt and a sport coat. I would like them to be pretty skinny as well, not just slim. Near Levi's 511 fit. Is there anything like this out there?

There are no other ways of promoting anything on Styleforum currently. If you make a promotional thread without being an affiliate, it will get deleted.

Nice, wool-blend, dark navy or charcoal tapered sweatpants. Besides Norse Projects Gustav. Any options?

Do you have a link? I can't find anything close enough. I'm not an expert, but I'd be surprised. They seem very solid to me, and as far as I can tell, Superfeet insoles cost $30 by themselves (not something I know anything about, its just the only thing I was able to google), and they are definitely part of the construction, not something someone shoved in there. Thanks for your input.

I think they're an in-store item only
