Are there any horn button experts here? I just received a new suit from my tailor. The buttons are horn and have a white residue on the inner ridge of the button:

This is a brand new suit and has not been dry cleaned yet. I think this is fairly common with horn buttons. However, I found other horn buttons online without the white residue like this:

Do you know what causes the white residue on horn buttons? Are there certain button finishing techniques that can be used to avoid the white residue? Do you have a particular make/model of horn button that you use for your suits which avoids the white residue?
