Where can I find some of the vintage Allen Edmond shoes? And part two is finding size 14D that has been hard to find as well. Any help you can give would be great. Especially if you know any sites i might be able to find those size 14's
thanks

As a fellow size 14 (14EEE), I find Amazon and allenedmonds.com to be the most reliable places to find our sizes. Also, the shoe bank always has a fairly large selection of the staples in my size (2d quality, so all of the usual caveats apply). Email them and they will send you a list.

As another fellow size 14 (14AA), I can find no resource better than eBay. Vintage models were often available in a wider range of sizes than the current offerings and occasionally fly under the radar (like the NOS shell Leeds I got last year for $125). It's equal parts patience and luck.

The Neumok MLB webgem we've been hearing rumors about is listed now under the Custom section of AE's website for $199. Basically just a neumok with an MLB logo imprinted on the side of the shoe.

So for $186 less than the normal custom Neumok, you get an MLB logo imprinted on the shoe and one less leather choice (football leather, makes sense here). I guess wearing some spectators to go watch a baseball game kind of make sense, doesn't it???

Add me to the 14 club (14E). Finding vintage styles is tough... I've got watchlists for both AE 14D and 14E on eBay, and the availability of 14Ds outnumber the E counterparts by 10:1.

I bought a pair of Strands 8D firsts about 3-4 months ago, and the right shoe has always been tight in width, and the left was fine. I chalked it up to having different sized feet. Recently I took a look inside and noticed some black tape-looking substance inside the shoe. Is this a defect or something which is normal? I included a photo of the inside of the shoe---and the normal looking one for reference

Allen Edmonds shoe with a logo? no thanks
It depends. I'd maybe wear them if I'd get paid for.

My first thought is that finding a vintage size 14 would be difficult, but who knows.

It's not everyday that you meet 3 guys who wear a size 14. My kid brother is a size 14, but he's like 6'5" so I guess he needs big feet to keep him from tipping over.

FWIW, for a while, there was a listing in the marketplace for a size 22 park Avenue. How many of those do you think AE made?

A 22? Jeezus...You could canoe down the Ohio River in that thing.

I hope they made at least 2 of them. 1 shoe would be a tough sell, except with the canoe crowd of course.

Those were custom made for an NBA player. I don't remember why they ended up for sale, but they were definitely a special make up and one of a kind.
