New build means I finally got to start playing The Last of Us.

Damn. Even though I saw the TV show, that’s some powerful storytelling for a video game.

Too bad it is still a poorly optimized experience. Even with the 12gb card (part of why I got it was specifically this game having issues with 8gb gpus) it seems to struggle. Need to tweak settings more.

Also I wanted to try playing with a ps4 controller to get the full OG experience…but I don’t think I can. Aim assist doesn’t seem to be working (and as a PC gamer, I’ve never been great at aiming with a controller) and given how scarce ammo is in this game, I can’t afford to be missing shots I would nail with a mouse.

Too bad since movement feels clunky with a keyboard. Maybe I will just reach for the mouse in combat.

That's a huge CPU cooler.
Might not be big enough…cpu pushes 85C under full load. The internet tells me that’s OK on modern AMD chips but it still seems high.

Didn’t they announce a big initiative recently for gaming? To make porting and development easier.

The problem is they won't invest in gaming studios like MS does. Companies won't take risks unless it's cheap to port over.

I think they did but my take was that it was more for casual gamers aka normies

They have a PS5 version of Last of Us. I’d play that considering the PC version is known for being poorly optimized.

But then I would have to buy a PlayStation…and if that were a thing I wanted to do, I probably would have been able to play the original game!

I've never played them, but the fact some Magadouche wants it banned means it immediately deserves my money.

The previous (current) one's campaign was tremendous fun, but then they milked that cow for a decade. They still do, judging from the sales I've seen.

Loved the series in college. Not sure I could commit the time to a game like this again.

I never cared to play them back in the day. It's crazy to me that this one has me so excited to play it. Excellent trailer.

I've been watching my son and his buddies play GTA5 online missions while he's home from college. Makes me want to dust off the ole Xbox and start playing it again!

Edit:

That trailer is fantastic!

I finished Lies of P.
Clearly a homage to Bloodborne, however with combat inspired from Sekiro.
The story is loosely based on Pinocchio, with more modern sensibilities.
I have played many soulslike games, never one that was so polished.
Hard game though. I lost countless times to the last boss.
