1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

You couldn't have been more helpful--you're even wearing the exact same trousers I'll wear with my LBs tomorrow! The relative formality, "solidness," sleekness, and color of the Bayfields are what I find so appealing. Unfortunately, I'm an 11E making do with an 11.5D based on availability, and the LBs are on the snug side already. The clincher: the Bayfields I was considering sold this afternoon.
I'd keep them. That's an especially attractive shade of the "dark brown."

Leatherfoot http://www.leatherfoot.com in Toronto carry Saphir products. They are not cheap, but they will make your shoes look great. I use Renovateur as a conditioner, the cream polish for lustre and protection, and the wax polish to give the toe-box a gleaming shine. I'm really happy with these products. Here's a bit of Renovateur and Mahogany cream polish on my LBs.

So what is the general consensus on a casual, good looking boot that can be used to take a bit of a beating (including nasty Louisiana rain).. worn with jeans more than anything I'd imagine.

I'm also thinking about jumping on this shell seconds sale... I sent Vincenzo an email so I could see what is available but if anyone else can share, that would be great (I'm looking at 8D / 8.5D).

Rothsay or Longbranches. Both are casual and super comfortable. Longbranches probably get the edge for dealing with bad weather. I think the Rothsays (in the cognac color at least) are just slightly more dressy.

Darkside, I see you! Nice... The color on your LBs is rich. I noticed NOTHING WRONG with the left one until after passing it a few times, and rereading the post and comments. They're too pretty to take out a ruler and start measuring. Show 'em to the world, sir!

Do you plan on stripping the leather with the likes of Renomat prior to dying?

Unfortunately mine arrived with a big discoloration at the cap line and they fit much tighter than my calf Strands. I had about an inch lacing gap, so I had to send them back. Did they make these in an EE width?

Quote: WlCaniacThe Long Branch is a much more casual and rugged looking boot. I have both, and have treated my LBs with HDLP and use them as I do my Wolverine 1000 Miles (though I'm wearing them today with cords, OCBD, tie and sweater due to the fact that Baton Rouge has snow/ice this morning for the first time in ages). I shined up my Bayfields pretty good and use them more as a dressy boot.

Sizewise, I had to size up a half in length for the Bayfield.
