You guys.... weaseling yourself into buying your own factory seconds. It's like catching your own touchdown pass.

As always, I'll be the one to ask "which laces?" They seem the ideal thickness.

And the lug sole, that's perfection. I was still curious if AE could put the larger Freeport lug sole on the Higgins instead.
Guarded Goods 54 inch thin waxed round for me.

It may be Fall in some places but it's still Summer in Los Angeles so wore the tan suede Strandmok 0.0's again.

For fans of "A-E In The Wild" pictures, once again my belt doesn't match my shoes. My belt is Nantucket Red and has mermaids on it. A-E will probably never make Nantucket Red shoes with mermaids on them although you never know what will materialize at the next Trunk Show.

It seems to be product review day for me as I just had a box of new shoe trees dropped off. I figured some of you folks going nuts for the trunk show just may need some trees, so I thought I would mention Cedar Elements. I find XL is just right because large trees just rattle around in many of the shoes I own. Searching Ebay I managed to find six pairs of these cedar trees in XL for just $78 and $5 for shipping. This is a much better deal than the $25 I am usually charged in other locations. The box with all 6 arrived and I am really pleased with the value. Their Ebay store (link) carries many different shapes and products. The ones I picked up were only available in XL as the others had been sold, but they also have medium and small in other ads, so read the description closely to make sure you get the size you need.

My power is back on, internet is working and water is receding to acceptable levels. Just in time too, I was almost out of Hurricane Punch. Decided to break out my beater boots, cap-toe Surreys on Itshide, and get to work.

At most I had about 4” of flooding, nothing bad at all. Feet were dry the whole time.

Whenever I bring these boots out, they are always put through hell. Not once have they ever let me down.

@AE_Lauren , you are a saint. These photos are amazing and truly help. The photoshop images from the website don't do shell shoes any justice. It's nice to see some of the people here going to you for some much deserved sales too. Keep up the good work!

Can't argue about AE brown & burgundy shell being great standards...

An excellent pairing! We really need the MacNeil offered in shell again at some point. The calf for AE100 was nice, but these are gorgeous!

For fans of boots doing boot things, and in honor of another marbled shell offering, marbled First Avenues from the 2019 TS off an another hiking adventure at 3500ft. You'll notice that these are flat welts, not reverse. This decision was made back when I owned only 5 or so shoes, and the flat welt was to help them masquerade as a casual office shoe. Little did I know how the collection would grow.

Nearly 10 miles ascending 1300 ft to reach an old decommissioned radar tower. Why, you ask? Why not?

Half a century ago there would have been a 125ft x 50ft dish on top of the building. For now it is an 80ft cement cube.

Happy Friday, all! And here's to more marbled shell!

That last picture is beautiful. I sometimes see my green Parks having a hint of the blue in them. This is an old picture.

Yes indeed, the green shell does have some blue in it. And conversely, the navy shell as it fades reveals green notes. Both really beautiful.

My green shell strands are not blue at all. They're a deep, bottle green/English racing green. Most people don't even recognize that they are green unless they're worn in sunlight, as they actually show as nearly black in most indoor lighting.

Just shows that shell varies from batch to batch.
Did you order a green shell 5th Street? I'll be ordering one from @AE_Lauren later today
