The takeaway for me is: No matter what you are wearing, the PA is perfect. AE set the bar really low.

It's dumb, because the PA is a great shoe in its right context, but it is totally garbage outside of it.

The Carlisle literally only has the role of a tuxedo shoe.

I've come to realize that the Alden Hampton last may no longer work for me. I have a pair of 911 shoes I keep trying to wear but every time I put them on the flexing just presses down on my big toes in an uncomfortable way. It seems my big toes have gotten slightly bigger in the last few years. I might have to put them on Ebay. .

Agree, the PA is an awesome suit shoe, but 5th ave perhaps more versatile

Wearing made in 1984 Oakmont saddle shoes today.

For fans of food pictures in shoe threads, stopped at Whole Foods in Westwood Village this morning to have some juice before going to UCLA to participate in a research project.

For fans of pictures of A-E shoes in places where Acadamia Nuts grow, in Haines Hall at UCLA.

For fans of pictures in shoe treads of journeys taken while wearing A-E shoes, a few pictures of the walk to and from Haines Hall.

It was all uphill walking to Haines Hall, but it was downhill on the way back.

For those who have scrolled this far and may be wondering if I took a picture sitting on my favorite tuffet by the UCLA Medical Center parking structure, yes, I did.

I guess I could try that. I tried conditioning them inside and out on the crease area, but didn't help much.

I have a very similar issue with my pair of Aldens on Hampton last. After a few wears, I'm chalking them up as a last that just isn't for me.
