Trying to decide if I can be "that guy" who wears suede long wings with shorts. In some lighting, the gray no-shows are closer to the gray of the MacNeils than others. Outdoors at 10:00 in the morning? Not so much. Oh well.

Wearing white suede Nomads again today. The last the Nomad is made on is the most comfortable (for my 8EEE feet in a 9EEE shoe) of all the A-E lasts. Still sorry A-E never made a white suede Whitney wingtip, The Whitneys were made on the same last as the Nomads, and had big holes like many British wingtip shoes.

For fans of "A-E In The Wild" pictures, standing in front of the remains of the Santa Monica CA post office, which has been vacant for many years. Still wondering, since there is such a thing as "creative office space" is there also such a thing as "destructive office space"?

For fans of food pictures in shoe threads, 68 years on...

On June 2nd 1953 watched the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II on television.

Today went to Ye Olde King's Head in Santa Monica CA and had a Coronation Chicken sandwich (Coronation Chicken was invented by Constance Fry and Rosemary Hume for the Queen's Coronation banquet) and champagne with my tea.

Broadcasting the coronation in the United States was a triumph of American ingenuity by the pioneers of television broadcasting in the United States.

@Roycru. If you do have a middle name, I would guess it's Dan, 'cause you are just that Dapper. Nice look! ?

You probably won’t like the break that this shoe will have. Not acceptable for that style. I would be ok if it were a Leeds that I could wear with jeans. But this style is too much of a dress shoe for that.
Even if it were possible for the shoes to have received my recommended pre-wear conditioning (which I’m pretty sure would have minimized the initial creasing on the left shoe, which I’m also pretty confident was a result of being tried on), those shoes are a light colored plain-toe so they’re gonna crease, and their creasing and wear will show. IMHO, it goes with the territory.

The bend in that leather looks okay to me. I used to be super neurotic about this stuff until I blew huge bucks on some bespoke whole cuts from a certain well known English shoemaker (worst shoe purchase evar, IMHO)... and the creasing turned out just like every other pair of plain toe and whole cuts I own.

I don’t like the right. Just above the scuff, there is a scar on the leather. Too far off the bends for me. And I am ok with a lot of imperfections. Hopefully you don’t have any underlying weak spots, and that one scar is it.

I tell ya though, I'd love to have a shot at cleaning those up. I feel like I could make'em look pretty spiffy, imperfections and all. I guess that's the vintage - restoration hobby talking.
