Same supplier. Horween discontinued one version of natural and released a waterproof version that is more color consistent. This is that.

Very interesting. Makes me wonder if there will be a natural waterproof Strand coming soon? It kind of reminds of the golden brown cxl from a few years back, but perhaps a little darker. I need to see these in person.

who knew the natty CXL Higgins is popular, I thought the opposite. I have a pair I've worn about 5 times in terrific condition that I can seem to even give away.

Wearing Home Rangers today

For fans of "A-E In The Wild" pictures and sock pictures in shoe threads, some Happy Socks and me.

Went to the A-E store in Century City this morning. Saw samples of all the Trunk Show colors.

Also saw samples of some of the Trunk Show shoes, like this Chili Strand.

Showing my oneness with the Trunk Show by wearing a pocket square with elephants on it.

Yesterday's Facebook Video may have been better if the shoes had been shown like this, one by one, closer to the camera.

When I first saw a picture of the blue Park Avenue sneaker with a white cup sole knew it reminded me of something. Finally realized what it was.

Hope after this Trunk Show this group isn't filled with any Trunk Show regrets posts. It's easier to order shoes during this Trunk show than during any of the prior Trunk Shows.

Considering the Higgins Mills in navy shell, but the pictures online make the shell look really glossy; akin to that nasty thick layer of shallac that Alden like to slather on to make the shoes look "better"
Is this the case in real life, or just extra shiny for their webpage

Yes. They are extremely shiny, glossy, and covered with shellac. That's funny **** brother. Last night, my daughter gave me advice that encouraged me to cancel my TS shell purchase and pursue some regular old Higgin Mill Chromexel.
"Daddy, you have plenty of shiny dress shoes" "You need a boot that is extra casual and doesn't scream - look at me"

No they're just limited edition styles so they aren't available for backorder. Once more pairs are completed you'll see them come available!!

Wow, that was quick, thanks Ashley! They look good, with a modest amount of shine, certainly not the plasticky look of Alden. Not sure i'd go with the blue Dainite, but handsome boot!

I agree! I looked at it and I thought to myself "it's certainly glossy, but not in a plastic kind of way" so I wanted to better capture that for you.

Excuse the double post. I’m sitting outside waiting the eminent arrival of a delivery that is only 4 1/2 hours beyond the latest estimated time for a 9:30 to 1:30 morning delivery. With nothing better to do, I took a picture with the glow of the setting sun.

If you like the Higgins Mill, and are looking for casual, don’t overlook the Patton. I’ve got a pair in suede and another pair in charcoal (grey-brown) kudu. They are great casual boots.
