To put things into perspective, I have limited Cuban cigar experience because they are much harder to obtain in the U.S. I'm sure there are much better smokes than what I've tried, but to be fair when I can find them it's always the main names that everyone throws around. I have not heard of the brand you speak of but would love to try one given the chance.

Don't get me wrong I'm not saying Cubans aren't good. I just think people throw the Cuban thing around, but lack any true smoking experience or depth of palate to differentiate a good cigar from a cheap one.

There are a lot of italian cars out there that are really fast.

Not all italian cars are really fast.

Not even all Lamborghinis are fast (islero, jarama, jalpa)

Too many tout country of origin as a be-all, end-all of cigar existence. Mostly that occurs in the US simply because they're so naughty and all that, the naughty factor overpowers reason and people just want the novelty of saying "it's cuban!" as opposed to "it's a GOOD cuban!"

In most other countries, being cuban in and of itself isn't always an indicator just like having the word "lamborghini" on the valve covers doesn't always indicate a fast car.

Or to keep it relatively on topic, just because it says "allen edmonds" on the insole doesn't mean the skulls on the side or woodland camo upper is classic styling. :hide:

what is the consensus here on V-Tread?

I have several pair with it (shaker heights, BB strands, i think my liverpools) and love it. still very sleek, doesn't have the nubby feeling on the bottom of my feets that dainite gives, and provides adequate grip and protection when walking on wet or slickery surfaces.

If there's a single sole that could be considered "do-all", that would be the closest iteration offered from AE.

I don't own them, but I think the Three Kings boots look pretty cool, it was a neat marketing thing. Though boots aren't classic styling.
Being that I'm only in my 30's I understand where Allen Edmonds head was at with this collaboration.

The shoes remind me of a mullet, business in the front, and party on the side, lol!

I 'take the mick' a bit with them, but i'm with you in that i understand.

I was just being slightly dingleberrry-ish to recall an occasional gag of streeeeeeeeeeeeeetching things in a post to stay on topic.

It's mostly me that does it.

But i'm determined to make it a thing. Alone if necessary. :hide:

If the oft repeated speculation about the next TS including suede, I really hope the Macneil is an option. Suede LWB’s look great.

(And I hope they use a really excellent suede).
MacNeil and Strand would be nice but I'd hope for some things never offered in suede like the 1st street and 5th street, Dalton's and Sullivan's (even though the 511 isn't good for me I'd like to see what you all come up with). St. Johns or another double monk.

Happy Wingtip Wednesday, time for some green and walnut. I think when my University's arrive I may switch to olive laces for these as I tend to wear the Leiden's mostly with green.

I had an electrician come by yesterday for a quote as my normal guy doesn't do side work anymore. Price quote was eye opening. I need a line run from where my range is to the breaker box in the basement, new 20amp (finished so a lot of fishing) and an outlet put in to the kitchen cabinet. $600-$800! So I have another guy coming tonight that does do side work and he will do it for less. I may say screw it and just go with a range hood replacement which won't need any electrical work but then it causes other issues. New fridges are so big that I can't keep my existing microwave where it is now since the new fridge will take up the full space.
