i think shell is a bad idea for a wholecut. the wrinkling and aging doesnt suit the design. i think shell is best for a more casual style like a loafer, blucher, or boot

Bah! What do you know about shell, man? Have you even got a single shell shoe?

Just kidding

I know what you mean about the wrinkling and I was thinking that you'd get similar issues with any plain toed shell shoe.

I still think your navy shell balmoral boot is bloody awesome and far from casual.

From what I see, the shell wrinkles at the flex points where calf leather would normally crease. Not sure this can be alleviated by a good fit because the foot doesn't remain rigid as you walk.

Thoughts?

I think a shell wholecut could work; I do agree with NAMOR that it has a more casual look, but maybe that's a good direction. Natural edge?

Good luck on getting the 6! I know Lee has been hoping for more interest.

not really as the only cordovan shoe i personally own is a sneaker, no kidding.

but, i have seen enough pairs in the flesh, which didn't shoe "disturbing" wrinkles due to a good fit and good material. nothing to lose sleep about, though.

Awesome lee! I know you've been wanting this so I hope it goes through! Curious to see what the final product will look like.

I haven't read all the 355 posts :)
Could you let us know when there are final specs and price ?

Sending this info to the AFOS mailing list would be a great idea.

Thanks

Another option for the AS Milton Wholecut might be in Midnight Blue Calf or Burnished Oak - I think either of these will look superb and wear very well.

I can go with the midnight blue. I've been on a blue streak lately.

Can you post a swatch of the burnished oak?
