Nope - lots of full placket Kurt's in India.

nope, those are either sherwanis or bandhgala coat, primarily worn on special occasions such as festivals/ weddings.

one example of full placket kurta is from state of Rajasthan where two front panels overlap and are tied on the side with strings but that is an exception and not a norm!

here, dozens of kurtas, all with half placket

We produce everything in Rajasthan and Ankit, the owner of our facility, wears full placket kurtas, frequently. And calls them as such. He's also 3rd generation in the garment and textile business. So I'm inclined to trust him....

In my experience the people who shop at Fabindia are tourists. Ankit took me to a bespoke Kurta maker within the city walls who makes 100% hand stitched kurtas. He was wearing a full placket one the day we met.

You know, one thing I've started to regret sleeping on is the Civilian Overshirt. At first, I kinda figured it'd clash a bit, but truthfully I wish I got one in brown.

For the record, am I imagining that a green/white striped one existed as well?

Ahh gotcha. For some reason, I was thinking that a green and white stripe existed.

Would that be something you guys would consider bringing back in the fall? Or are there some other overshirt ideas up in the air?

And you should, but there are nuances which may have never come up in your discussion, I'm the nth generation of kurta wearer, so there's that

Re: fabindia, I posted since catalogue is easily accessible online and also your impression of only tourists shopping at Fabindia is false, anyone who lives in a large city and needs access to well made kurtas or other traditional garments go to Fabindia.

Here's some more Kurtas which are not from Fabindia, these two are leading designers in India

I regret not copping the brown and white striped over shirt on Grailed in my size. Love those big bold striped and struggle to find them in my size in lots of brands

Any info on the windowpane pants and shirt, with respect to price and fit? Those two are next Friday, along with the yellow-orange-blue corduroy looking shirt?

Early access code as a day early birthday treat? :lookaround:

From now until the end, the fit is TTS or size up if you know what's really good (unless we explicitly say otherwise). Not dropping until later in the month.
