Some retailers call the latter (which I also prefer) the "Dover" pattern. Notice all suede PTBs have this pattern. Same with the unlined number 8's. Also, my cigar on crepe also is on this pattern.

this is actualy different than the dover (the dover seam is more curved and goes further back...see here)

i don't know what they call the pattern on the #4, but it's def uniuqe

Just wanted to share that I was sent the navy suede indy from Leffot in a 9d (I have a pair of 9d barrie cordovan boots that fit fairly well) I returned them in favor of the 8.5d marble suede indy. Got them tonight, and they are amazing. Going to be my go to for jeans/lighter colored slacks this summer. Out of 4 or 5 pairs of aldens this is my new fave.

Also, I might have been the last one to snag a reserved pair of the Ravello day trippers in 9d a few weeks ago, hopefully the grant will work out, otherwise I might have to check myself into a mental hospital bc those things are gorgeous!

Correct. The same pattern is cut for the suede ptb:

Some of you may recall that I was checking out the Kudu Indy.  I really like the Kudu leather, but I had a hard time after seeing the Bureau boot.  So I split the difference and put a deposit on the Kudu Ultimate Indy from Leather Soul.  Oki stated that they expect a restock in about two or three months.  Just an FYI for anyone interested.

info on LS preorder? what else they have in the pipeline?

I wonder if it will be the version below, or the earlier version with the whiter contrast stitching. Prefer the one below over the latter.

Although after reading Tom's comments, the darker stitching is from wax and oil

Depending on the day, at least. I also managed to reserve a pair of Day Trippers in 9D a few weeks ago. Phewf!

Hey all, I got a width sizing question. I wear an 8E on Leydon, 7.5E on Barrie, 7.5E on Trubalance right now. The 8E generally fits the best for me. The 7.5E Barrie fits well length and is comfortable width wise, but I have a lot of extra space on top, which lets me close the vamp to maybe 15mm or so, pretty much closer than I've seen everyone wear their Barries here. Comfort wise, the 7.5E I have to lace a bit to get the vamp together, so after a long day my instep gets irritated.

I was fit in a Barrie 7.5E at Alden SF and 7.5D at LSBH, but the 7.5D was pretty snug width wise (was advised that Cordovan shoes were made slightly larger), but the vamps were distanced correctly. Anyways, question is, if Cordovan is a bit snug is it worth trying to get a little give in them from use? Would buying normal width shoes in Calf be too snug (none available to try on)?
