First time poster, long time lurker. Leading up to this purchase I spent a couple of weeks on here trying to find as much info on the leather and build. I thought this might be helpful for someone else in the future.

I love the Harris. The Cleated sole on the 335 last is chunky, yet elegant. The broguing really helps bring it in to a balanced aesthetic. Division Road did a similar make except a different color leather and no broguing. I loved that build too, but the broguing on the Harris gives the build so much versatility.

I've seen the Hurricane Hide compared to CXL, and it is similar, but also it's very different. I own ĥigh quality CXL boots and they have such an oily shine to them. You can tell the HH is made differently and stuffed with a different mixture of oils/waxes. The HH has a slightly matted shine and the pullup isn't nearly as pronounced as a pair of natty Vibergs. CXL does crease but it's more resistant to the grainy creasing you get with calf. HH seems to be right in the middle between the two. I'm not saying it's bad. It's just different which I guess if it wasn't they wouldn't have given the leather a different name.

Anyways, I can tell this is cordovan heavy thread so hope I didn't bore anyone too much.

I’m very interested in the chocolate hurricane version. You can see the light and dark tones from creasing on the C&J image. And I guess these were almost fresh out of the box before being photographed. So really interested to get a pair and see how they develop.

Nice leather and colour, it looks sturdy that Hurricane Hide. Personally, I think that a Chelsea Boot looks better without a broguing.
