As much as the OP has responded to this criticism in an effective manner (with a touch of the humor for which Sheepy is so well-known) , might I suggest that, as the OP is a bespoke tailor, and is in the business of selling his services as such, that "contrived and fussy" is also "attention-getting" - an effective form of advertising. The OP is his own billboard, and his own wardrobe is designed to be visually arresting (even at the expense of being "natural") and technically superb.
FWIW, were the suit for myself, I would forego the roped shoulders.

Sort of but in this instance it was more about a Gilbert and George look.

Yes of course. Though, I wouldn't go so far as "visually arresting." Only heart-shaped buttocks, heaving breasts, or a knowing glance from yours truly could possibly warrant the phrase.

When you are grazing in the meadow, no ewe is truly safe.

Faconnable.

Love the shoes

Really? Respectfully, I disagree. Those lasts are way too pointy! And with the stripey socks, I'm surprised he's not a member of the lollipop-guild. Maybe it's 'fashionable', but definitely no style points to my eyes... I like the soft shoulders on the jacket and lapels though.

This is the perfect example of a certain look/style that gets tons of love on this site: the colors are good, the fit is spot on and the textures are really nice, yet the overall effect is contrived and fussy.

I think the BD collar coupled with the three-piece makes it look fussy, imho. That, and the fact that he doesn't look relaxed. Barring that, he looks great.
