Appologies for the somewhat blury images - still trying to figure out this new digital camera of mine. Anyway, today's rig features the third wearing of my bespoke William Field DB with light blue shirt and silver/grey ribbled Ben Silver tie.

Just caught up with this thread.

As I said the first time you posted, I like this suit.

I know you get a lot of heat about the shoulders and on most suits, I'd agree.

But, I think with a 3-piece pin stripe, the big shoulders work.

I love the SC, shirt, jeans, and shoes. I like how the shirt breaks up the dark SC and dark jeans. The belt is ehh, the hat I like, but looks a bit small for your head. Could be the camera angle.

It's odd seeing jeans in this thread. It took me some time to wrap my mind around it and judge the fit objectively. I think this works very nicely.

K, I love that you work hats into your style, but I think you need some with longer brims. Nothing extreme, but the ultra-stingies just don't look good. Try to find something in the 2" neighborhood.

You really rock the casual fits, though!

100% great. Love all aspects of this fit, esp. the shoe choice.

    Thanks, HF.

Mike's quote, "These pants came hemmed to a proper length, and I have not decided if I should leave well enough alone, or cuff. "

Funny you should say that, I was thinking, "What no cuffs on Mike's pants!" My tailor kind of discouraged cuffs saying they can make one seem shorter and squattier. I am 5'10" with a slenderish build so I don't think that isn't much of an issue for me, but I feel it depends on the particular trousers/slacks for me. I like yours the way they are, also love the shoes. [IMG]

Thanks, man. I may cuff them. I need to have the waist taken in a bit....and the temptation to cuff is strong. [IMG]

Suit is coo. Could be more contrasty IRL, but from the pics, but shoes are a weeee too close in color to the suit. Plus, the dark thick sole says fall/winter to me. This fit is crying for a brick sole [IMG]

Great find on the shoes! Burn that pocket sqaure tho [IMG] Rose silk satin goes with nothing. Trust me on this one.

    well hello there ...

I like how the blue contrasts with the suit color. I also think the color of the shoes are a great contrast as well. However, I also think that tassel snuff suede loafers look great with jeans...and that's about it. Sorry mang.

(Maybe I should have re-done the seersucker??)
3 roll 1 suits can look great, but odd coats...from what I've seen they only look good in tweed/flannel. This looks like an orphaned suit jacket. Sorry my mod brother, but if you've got the matching pants, it'd look much better.

I like all the parts, but the whole comes across as a touch too busy.

I don't mind the concept of a velvet tie, but I'm not sure it works with the more summer leaning trousers.
    I'm listening ...
I think it's the low contrast top half combined with a fairly dark bottom half that jars slightly. If the trousers were a bit lighter or the tie a bit darker the two halves would work together better.

I think it needs a different tie - it's very close to the SC. If it was a dark navy I think the whole would work better.

could you get a tiny bit more detailed? I thought the tie and PS went great together. I just dont understand why it "isnt bad", I can take criticism but I'd like to know what to change in the future....
