FWIW, I take size 8.5D in Barrie and TB. Size 9D in Grant.

Yes, I meant 7.5E/8D Barrie. I measure 8E, so half a size down (7.5E) with the same Brannock width is correct for me.

Alden SA told me to keep width constant and go up down in size for different lasts.

Can anyone who has worn both Barrie and Grant expand on the difference in fit? I wear Barrie in 8.5D and it has extra volume through most of the boot from heel to ball. I would size down a half size except then my toes would pinch, as there is really no exra room there (in width, there is in height). Do those who size up a half from Barrie find the Grant fitting similar or looser/tighter in comparison? Any extra room in the toes? Ive read as much as I can about Grant but Im still shaky on the specifics.

Grant has less toe room than Barrie.

I made my choice from my boot poll a few days ago. Maiden voyage of JC indy boots.

Question for you guys that stay abreast of who has what (and yes, know it's a long shot).
I just ordered the chamois cap toe shoe from leffot. What I would rather have is a shoe out of the same material, plaza last short wing. Does such a beast exist and if so, who has that make up?
Thanks!

There was a "best boot" question a few pages ago. The best Alden cordovan boots I have seen tend to be cigar. Captoe, Indy, Wingtip, even chukka...

^ Awesome tankers.

@porterinjax -- Sounds like a grant make but I am fairly certain that nobody does that.

Beautiful - dark brown suede on antique needs to be done more often. LeatherSoul has done good work with this combo

Nice LS Choco suede tankers! I love that rich dark brown color. LS had my size available, so I pulled the trigger. They should arrive on Wednesday.

FYI if anyone was looking for a Leather Soul CXL plaza wingtip boot, there should be one available in 10E. I passed on mine (forgot I ordered it).
