Gentlemen, excellent postings today. Those Color 8 LWBs of sazon's look amazing, as do 100yr's snuff suede, tifosi & mdubs' Whiskey Wednesday and those very comfy looking snuff suede LHS that DonL is wearing today.

I received a couple of packages today, which is always exciting but sometimes stressful.

First, the good: J Crew PCT boots fit great and are a rich, dark version of color 8 that sends my swooning every time I look at them. Also, I haven't done any deep knees bend in them or anything like that, but they do seem to fit slightly more snug than my Leffot black shell Naval Boots.

Now for the not so good: received a pair of LS snuff suede Safari boots and am totally non-plused. When I look down at them on my feet, it just seems so wide through the foot (because the suede has so much give) culminating in a very narrow-looking toe area. It's accentuated by the regular flat welt of the sole which is hardly visible (like it is on a reverse welt boot), so it's just that chisled narrow toe box staring up at me. I can totally see people liking this look, but I guess I'm used to more rounded toes on suede shoes -- suede bucks, Van last LHS, or suede chukkas on the Barrie last.

Have I simply gotten (temporarily) too used to looking at my color 8 Trubalance Indy-clad feet - and it was too much of an aesthetic shock to suddenly throw on a pair of suede boots with a narrow little Plaza last chisled toes? Thoughts?

It could be that the profile of the Plaza just does not appeal to you. It does not appeal to me, for the reason that you have described.

Hey guys, if it were not for my being short on cash due to an impending car purchase, I would have jumped on the Steel28 Plaza lasted captoe color 8 boots in 9D. You'd basically be stealing them from him. Pull the trigger already and wear in great health before a patient pays me in cash and I go running for more visa vanilla gift cards!!

Steel, if you have any ravello ptbs, let me talk to you about your layaway policy :)

My friends, with broken heart I have to sell my 1 week old LS captoe boots in color 8 with blind eyelets (Plaza, 9D). I will sell these for incredible/quick sale price. Feel free to PM me and I've decide to offer these in Alden thread first and will list these in classifieds shortly.

I wore these twice in my carpeted office as part of Mac method for one hour each time.

thanks

Such as shame. My size as well, no funds at the moments though - annoying because these are high on my list.

Can I ask in what way the sizing didn't work for you?

As an aside, to all the plaza fans. Personally i have been put off by the mention of the chisel toe in the past, but am coming around quite strongly in favor of it

Sometimes the chisel hardly seems there at all, and sometimes is seems more pronounced (all down to the pictures i am sure), it looked very chiselled on the LSxSF boot.

I am correct that is a very subtle, "hardy there at all" chisel?

The only plaza i have tried was the calf mocc stitched plaza loafer, the mocc stitching making it quite difficult to see the shape of the toe.
If anyone has experience of the fit of the loafer in comparison to the plaza boot i would appreciate the input.

I found that I could just fit into half a size down on the loafer, but it was a little snug - and the front, above the throat line where the half strap is) was uncomfortably tight and it was quite high. I assume that this tightness would also apply to the fitting of the plaza boot?
I am pretty sure i can fit into the Grant -0.5 (ie the tighter of the plaza loafers) or at least the E width of the grant was a touch too roomy.

this is the loafer i am talking about

what last is this and how does it it compare to Barrie?  I find that with BB Bucks i have to go 0.5 larger than most US sizes.

From looking at he BB site it looks lined.

Guessing they're the BB M58 last? I went TTS, and they're a touch long. Unlined for sure

Thanks for kind words Doc, no ravello ptb at the moment yet!

Plaza sizing worked very well for me. It's not the issue. I have 3 pre-orders coming from various makers and decided to part with captoes at a loss.

I'm might even keep them and will delay classifieds until tomorrow :embar:

Thanks Bakes. The narrow toe just seems so accentuated with this make up. I never noticed it in all the great pictures online.

Or give me a price and unload them

just to be clear, it was a good natured joke. I have a preorder to arrive and it really is out of the question for me at any fair price.
I am not trying to get a super low price, especially as shipping to europe increases the cost significantly.

i hope (and expect) mr steel28 will get a decent return from B&S and wont lose too much.
