They're pretty much the same shoe. The only difference is the sole, which will yellow over time anyway.

I think the oxidized sole that comes with wear/moisture looks best in the all white.

anyone ever use angelus leather paint to repair scuffs on white achilles? I'm trying to figure out which one to use (matte, normal, shiny, etc.). Any recommendations?

Well everything can be resoled but I'm guessing you mean like Goodyear welted in which case some CP's (boots etc) are gy welted. As far as durability it really depends how much you wear them and what kind of weather and situations you put them in but generally speaking I've found CP's to be surprisingly durable. My oldest pair is 6 years old and there's nothing structurally wrong with them (heel wear is the only legit issue) and I wore them about 3 days/week for almost 4 years.

I'm not necessarily referring to Goodyear welting, although that is good to know in regards to their boots.

I'm referring to the stitching that I see between the upper and the sole on most of their models, like the Achilles. I'm wondering, is that stitch is there for show or not?

Or I guess a better question would be: are Common Projects shoes worth resoling if necessary?

Hearing that they are durable is a good sign!

The leather dye I tried got hard and cracked off the sneaker. I then tried angelus acrylic based paint and it worked wonders on my CP. It scuffs off with wear and washes, but a bottle of it lasts forever and it looks real close to the original finish. Just get a good brush for acrylic painting and it will be all good.

cool, I tried dye and had the result you described. Did you get the 'normal' paint? Or did you go with matte/shiny/gloss?

Hey guys, what are you thoughts on the following two CPs. I am looking to wear this for work and not sure if the cadet derbys are formal enough.

I used to think this way too. I kind of figured "why would I buy a derby from a sneaker brand?" but after arbitrarily coming across a pair for <200 a while ago I copped and wear them way more than any of my more traditional derbies. I suppose it depends how you wear them, like all things, but the burgundy and black derby shines look really dope in all kinds of casual outfits.

Any insight on derby shine sizing? Brannock is 10.5. I have some black slip ons size 44. But I heard the derbies are sized differently.
