I have two shirts in Pale Blue End-on-End 100/2 and it's a great staple blue shirt. Feels nice, not too hard to iron, excellent value. It's a significant upgrade from the sky blue summer chambray, which is a similar fabric that I ordered previously.

If you had to choose, you'd take the end-on-end over the chambray?

The 100/2 is definitely worth the $10 upcharge (edit: over the chambray). You will not regret it.

I have swatches of both, they're quite similar in weave. I'm looking for a fabric that's a bit sturdier than the end-on-end, the chambray seems to be slightly thicker, which is what I'm looking for.

Is the difference between cambric (chambray) and end-on-end only the fact that cambric is calendered, pressed between rollers?

Vogs, it may be that you just need to tuck your shirt in more. My second recommendation would be to widen the chest and waist measurements in the front, and increase the back hem width.

You might check the previous page where I posted some old military tips for tucking shirts.

I can't tuck it in more. If I widen the chest, it looks like the blue linen I've already posted. Not really what I want. When I increase the waist measurements the same happens. A lot more crinkles or volume at the lower back, where my body is quite slim. Also an undesired silhouette will form.
Could you please describe what you mean with the "back hem"?

Thanks for the hint, I'll have a look on your tucking tips.
Pretty much agree 100% with emptym.

It is too tight in the chest and waist. Bottom is probably OK. I'd try a larger measurement for both, and go for darts, or a larger front than back waist, measurement to slim it down.

Seems like 90% of people who make a first time order on here end up with something too slim. I guess it's either difficulty in measuring or just wanting to achieve the GQ/Esquire body hugging look which, as I have said before, is illusory.

IMO, for anyone else making a first order, leave a bit of allowance in the chest and waist and at least you will end up with something wearable! And it can always be slimmed locally.

What would be the difference between a more narrow waist width and darts? My front waist and chest are bigger than the back measurements.
Hmmm... you're maybe right in your second point. You mean because you can barely move, like you do in daily live, in such shirts right?

I don't know why but I have my concerns regarding darts and a linen shirt. Are they unnecessary?

Oh and attached a few pictures of a wider shirt (for my taste, (much) too wide for my figure). It's not from Luxire I have to note but I hope it will help to find my perfect fit for the following Luxire orders. As I said, its much wider and the problems with the crinkles at the side and front are also existing here. Not that much but they're here though.

From Wikipedia:
"End-on-end is almost identical to cambric(also known as chambray), lacking only the calendering which gives cambric fabric its glossy appearance."

Edit: if you want something less dressy, then chambray is a good choice as it's generally heavier.

I think this shirt fits better in the chest than your Luxire shirts. Not sure from the photo whether I'd make the chest much smaller than that. Agree that the waist should be slimmed down. The armholes and sleeves can be slimmed as well. I'd consider narrowing the yoke slightly but not much. Would you be able to share your chest and waist (body) size and the chest/waist measurements from the shirts you've posted?

Darts can really help shape the lower back by adding curvature, which is not the same thing as decreasing the waist or back waist measurement.

Not exactly the same thing, but has a similar effect of reducing excess fabric at the back.

Personally I don't like the look of darts - on some shirts, particularly plain colours, they become very noticeable. YMMV.

Finally took the plunge and ordered from Luxire based on all the hype on SF as well as the recent tumblr post with the pleated extended waist band pants. I actually ordered the same makeup but in British khaki. The pants arrived within a week and I was initially very pleased. The construction was excellent, the fabric sturdy and the makeup was very true to measurements and specifications. Unfortunately, there was an imperfection in the fabric. I guess I made up one of "0.25%" of imperfect garments and on my first order no less. When I contacted luxire regarding the mistake, they immediately offered to replace the pants after I sent the originals back at my own cost. Unfortunately, shipping back to India is $45, but I have no other choice as I'm OCD when it comes to visible imperfections.

All in all, it's a great product, but I likely won't be ordering again due to the return policy. Too much risk given the high return cost.

Most people of average build don't need darts to get a shirt to fit well at the lower back. However the OP seems to have quite a hollow back, and in this case I think darts are at least worth considering if he wants a slim-fitting shirt. I suggest that the OP take the shirt to his tailor and try it out. If he doesn't like how they look, they can be taken out very easily and after a wash the stitching holes will not be visible.

Are you in the U.S.? If so, you should be able to send it to New Jersey and it will be forwarded over the India. Should cost you no more than $10-15, I would think.

I'm in Canada. I shipped it to the address listed on their website for returns. Was not informed of a New Jersey shipping address.

I placed my order 48 hours ago, and I haven't received my shirt. Should I be concerned? I've already posted my concerns on Twitter and Facebook, but I'm wondering if I should contact the WTC next.
