Just ordered 2 custom shirts from Luxire, my first shirts on SF recommendations. Very excited to try these bad boys out.

If you've done the measuring part well - you won't be disappointed.

2x lustrous fine white shirts. I figure if they don't fit they'll be easy to give to someone. Everybody always needs more white shirts.

New to online MTM stuff -- I want to order a pair of chinos with DAKS adjusters; I have a pair of chinos that fit well, but the problem is, I'd like the luxire ones to be considerably higher waisted than the ones I have right now. I'm worried that if I send the measurements based on my current medium - rise chinos I'll get the custom made ones back with a similar rise. How do I make sure this doesn't happen?

the obvious answer is to increase the rise measurements. use measurements from a pair of pants whose rise you like (presumably these are wool dress slacks). i'd compare those to the chinos whose fit you like, and then adjust from there. i've found i like my chinos to fit a bit slimmer in the leg than my dress slacks.

That can be a challenge. I ordered my chinos with DAKS adjusters and the fit perfect right now. Obviously, if I lose 5lbs, I'll probably need to notch up a button, and if I gain 5lbs then...well...that's not going to happen. If you have pants with the right rise AND waist at least use those measurements as reference, otherwise you really do need to be aware of the size/shape of hips and belly and how it affects your waist measurement at different rise points. I used my best fit pants, but adjusted my waist to -0.5" as they were slightly loose for a DAKS fit. Also remember cotton chino stretch a little bit upon wearing. When I first tired on my chinos I felt the waist was a bit tight, but after a few hours of wear they are perfect. Haven't put them through the wash yet though.

On last thing suggestion with DAKS pants, if you are like me and like to hang your pants on hooks between wears rather than on hangers, I suggest you ask Luxire to add a hook loop on the inside of the waistband. Slight oversight as all my other pants have belt loops to hang from.

...just received my trial shirt (Classic Oxford-blue) and I have to say measurements are spot on. Overall, I am very satisfied with the shirt construction considering the price point and materials; basic MoP buttons are thick and the stitching is very good.

I will definitely order more and I'm hoping Luxire will add Thomas Mason to their fabric selection. Thanks

Hey guys, are they on India time or US (EST) time? I ask because I get emails at various times and was kinda crossing my fingers and hoping "Theresa James" is basically a name used by customer service that's available at all times but that's probably not the case.

Would you give Luxire your measurements with each order again or specify something like "copy order no. Xxxx but arms +0.5 inches and fabric Oxford..."?

Well, I've been trying to decide on that. I like the idea of an unstructured jacket, but given that part of the reason is as a trial jacket for a suit that definitely will be structured, I think I ought to have it be canvassed. I'll probably ask for very thin to no shoulder padding.

Finally got around to putting my order for a sportcoat in last night - went with this fabric:

I decided to get it canvassed, but with light shoulder padding. Next step is to send in the reference jacket (an old golden fleece blazer) to their office in NJ. I'm pretty excited - and I'll be sure to post pictures once it arrives (I was told 4-5 weeks, but we'll see).

$400 for canvassed, less for unstructured. Not cheap, but considering what it costs everywhere else for mtm jackets, I feel pretty good about it. It does seem like jackets are somewhat of a work in progress, but that's part of why I'm not ordering a suit for my wedding straight off.

This may be a stupid question, but how are you ordering sportcoats? On their website I only see shirts, pants, and accessories.
