A weight routine for the gf? - Page 3

I just made it much easier for the both of us last night. I just broke down and bought her a 15 lb kettlebell from Walmart. It is like pulling teeth to get her to do squats, but she's been swinging that kettlebell all morning and loving it. I think I found the ticket.

Holy thread bump, but I too am a gluteal enthusiast and have been trying to get my girl to tone up her thighs + hams to match up with her great rear

She hates the gym though, and hamstrings are hard to work w/o a machine

I just read through this thread again and this has got to be one of the most ridiculous thing's I've heard in this subsection. Men and women both gain muscle at about the same rate assuming programs, frequency, etc. are the same. Ask a man if he gains muscle quickly; it's a long process and a woman won't get bulky if that's not her goal. She'll stop long before that point.

Cool the Kid, your girl can do RDL's with dumbbells easily; those are perfect for a girl to develop her hamstrings.

lol good troll.

bulgarian split squat, lunges, and stiff leg deadlifts. She also has permission to use that padded squat bar contraption thing. Can also do a bit of seated row, no she won't get a huge back. Reps should be around 12.

Just to address the "oh no i might get bulky" issue. If it were that quick and easy every douchebag in the gym would be huge.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2XEI2InseCg Eat shit, haters. Got the GF on starting strength and she's looking great. On top of that, women have to work far far far harder to gain a comparable amount of muscle mass to a guy, so the idea that they get "bulky" is overreactionary and mysogynist to an extent. Women can lift weights and look great, too.

^Olympic lifts are great for women because they fatigue the whole body and they don't give a centralized pump which women equate with "getting bigger". Plus she'll love the feeling of power she gets when throwing a heavy barbell overhead.

This is pretty laughable. Have you been working out in a gym full of trannies? Markedly higher test levels will always enable men to gain a much higher volume of muscle and shed a higher volume of fat with all else being equal.

I said gain muscle at about the same rate not gain the same volume of muscle.

I would suggest you make no recommendations at all. No matter what, this will backfire on you somehow.

Walking up and down hills helped her the most.
