I have a question on the following shoe (AE McClain in a Merlot ):

Attachment 22391

Is this shoe acceptable to wear in a casual environment, i.e. cotton khakis with button down long sleeve shirt? (no jacket no tie)

Also, I can get the above McClains New in Box (not a factory 2nd) for $188 shipped. Is that a reasonable price?

I already have the AE Cliftons in a Dark Brown on the way ...
Attachment 22394

Also, I have 2 pairs of loafers on the way (one being the Walden and the other being the Stowe), so I'm thinking these McClains can replace the Stowe and I'd send the Stowes back. All shoes will be worn in the same office environment.

AE Walden:

AE Stowe:

Thoughts?

Yes, it is perfectly acceptable.

All of your shoes are nice Furo. I, for one, congratulate you on your AE selections.

The McClain is far more versatile.
I would choose the McClain hands down over the Stowe.

That's a decent price you got there, since I have been looking for a pair for a while. May I ask where you found that price?

I have the McClains in #8 shell and love them but generally only wear them with suits even though historically wingtips are considered to be on the less-dressy side. On the other hand, I wear my tan C&J Clifford wingtips with more casual outfits even though they are bals.

Well I got my loafers in and sadly they are too wide at a D width so guess I'm returning both the Walden and the Stowe. I was going to order another pair of Waldens at a narrower width but they were out of stock

So.... I ordered the AE Hampstead to replace my AE Walden that I will return tomorrow:

I'm hoping it is suitable for casual office wear (no jacket no tie)...

Good thing is that I found the AE Hampstead online for $178 shipped, which was only $8 more than the Walden

I'm guessing the Hampstead is a higher quality shoe, construction wise.
