I have started tailoring my ties straight with no angle. 1.5" to 2" all the way looks pretty good, but no wider than 2" to wear without a jacket. Since you are amjacking it, why not just get a polyester 2" tie off the internetz? I have a couple thin polyester ties and I don't mind them at all. I will be picking up some 2" black ties shortly for pretty cheap, I can pick one up if my tailor remembered to order them.
