isn't matt damon about 40? christian bale has to be up there too. if we're counting those guys, depp should be on the list, as well as vincent gallo.

gael garcia bernal is the youngest guy i've seen who impresses me every time.

Youngish. Not Harrison Ford, George Clooney.

i think colin farrell had the potential to become an admirable form of what you described, too bad he's got Ben Affleck syndrome and stars mostly in crappy box office flops. Jack Nicholson has matured nicely into that description, however. When he's not playing himself, he's pretty good at capturing depravity mostly because i think he lives it (see: The Departed). But more often than not he's more fun to watch in real life than in movies these days.

I'm confused. You mention Pitt in your original post, but Clooney's too old? He's two years older than Pitt. Harrison Ford could be either ones' father.

And +3 or 4 or whatever it is on Joseph Gordon Levitt. I haven't been that impressed by an actor in some time. Giovanni Ribisi is right up there as well.

yeah people often refer to Clooney as if he was much older than Pitt. I guess the grey hair and more classic dress sense really has that aging effect...i don't dress down much, and as a result people often assume I'm 5 years older than I actually am.

"I always thought Matt Damon was kind of a Streisand, but I think he's rocking the **** in this one!"

My vote goes to Jason Schwartzman.

ribisi is an excellent actor, and i don't understand why his career never took off. i suspect it's because he doesn't have leading man looks, but he should still play other roles. for those who doubt me, check out "boiler room."

Great movie. The scene with his father towards the end made my jaw drop. Now that's what fine acting is all about.

Gotta give props to Michael Imperioli as well.
