I don't like Apple but do hope they push these phones forward in general. Copycats and competitors will come out with something better and cheaper if the phone catches on like the iPod. I JUST got a mp3 player as a matter of fact. Creative Zen Nano 1GB. I think it has much over an iPod. Voice recorder, FM recording.

So how many of you are actually going to drop $600 and commit to a two year service agreement to get one of these monstrosities in three weeks? Oh, and by the way, welcome to the new Cingular... AT&T.

This guy sounds as though he's just as "invested in a product" as Apple proponents...just taking the opposite point of view.

I have an ETEN G500 smartphone that comes with Windows Mobile...

It does pretty much the same this iPhone promises. You have the GPS integrated and TomTom, Windows Media Player for Music, Internet Explorer for browsing and Outlook for messaging. It even has a mini Excel and Word...

So it does pretty much what iPod offers, BUT I DON'T USE IT, BECAUSE IS BIG AND HEAVY compared to my little Nokia 6230i.

So I simply decided to use my Nokia 6230i as a cell phone, that is what it is and is wonderful at it. and I keep the ETEN on my car to use it as a MP3 player or TomTom navigation device or in the case I need it on the road as a Web browser...

Just because it is impractical.. So I don't see what could be in this iPhone that would make me use it....

I'll probably get one in five years, when hopefully they'll be available from T-Mobile. Unless by next March (when my current Verizon contract runs out) AT&T cuts their prices to T-Mobile's level for both voice and data. Then I'll get one sooner.

John C. Dvorak says the iPhone will suck, long live John C. Dvorak!

To hell w/ iPhone, you'll have to pry my Blackberry from my cold, dead hands....but then again...the Cingular 8525 does look interesting.

iPhone is a quarter the size of a Blackberry. Dvorak has panned every single apple product since 1984 and has been right approximately three times (Lisa, Newton, Cube.)
