Wing Commander - I was just talking about this the other day with my friend. Strong contender for worst movie of the past 20 years.

Good call, but then again, its a movie that stars both Freddie Prinze Jr. and Matthew Lillard. See: Scooby Doo 1 and 2, Summer Catch, and She's All That for reference

When I was 12 or 13 I watched ALL of she's all that hoping that Rachel what's-her-name would get naked in it.

I don't know why, I just thought she would.

WHAT a ******* disappointment.

Top 7 worst (theatrical release) movies of the past 20 years according to Tokyo Slim:

7: Car 54: Where Are You? - IIRC it marks the big screen debut of Rosie O'Donnel. Nuff Said.

6: Dungeons And Dragons - When the LEAST annoying person in the movie is Marlon Wayans, you are in trouble.

5: Highlander 4: Endgame - When the star of the television show and the star of the movie team up to fight.... whoever, crap happens, and nobody cares.

4: Godzilla - Hank Azaria pissing himself is the highlight, Jean Reno plays... tough french guy who shoots guns, Puff Daddy ****** Led Zepplin is the lowlight.

3: Rocky V - When the student turned enemy is named Tommy "The Machine" Gunn, and the climax of the movie is a 4 minute boring grapple fest of a street fight between a 50 year old Sly Stallone and a 'roid enraged ex-boxer with HIV, your movie is going to suck. Sorry.

2: Tie - The Blair Witch Project & Book Of Shadows: Blair Witch 2:
First off, the first movie sucked, the only thing it had going for it was that a lot of dumb people thought it was real and the thought that it was real freaked them out. After it came out that it wasn't "real", the sequel was pointless. It wasn't even a good horror movie. Suck.

1: Battlefield Earth - Can a movie REALLY be much worse than this? Seriously. I've sat through some crap in my life, as a matter of fact, I've seen movies "technically" worse than those on this list, but those movies generally have some redeeming qualities, like lots of gratuitous nudity, or excessive gore, or Christopher Walken. The movies on this list have NOTHING GOING FOR THEM, and Battlefield Earth is the movie that most completely and accurately sums up in my mind, the word "crap".

I would like to nominate an unusual contender. "VOLVER" with Pemnelope Cruiz, director Almodovar.
I like his other movies, but this one is simply put "Telle Novella" for Mexican TV.

Troy. What a wasted ******* opportunity, though I think Peter Jackson has probably set the bar far too high for fantasy epics for a while anyway.

I sort of saw it twice, without audio, on flights to NY and back. It's so insipid that at least it's no more unpleasant the second time than the first.

Next blows. Except for the head of casino security, who rocks but gets killed about 40 minutes into the movie. (The fact that this role is played by a good friend of mine -- who now owes me big time for my having gone to this terrible flick -- has, of course, nothing to do with that last observation.) After he dies, it blows even more.

Anyone see "Versus", the Japanese zombie Yakuza movie? I'm not sure if it blows... it was too weird. Tell me what to think.

rampo noir blows.

ocean's twelve blows. the whole julia roberts/bruce willis b.s. made it television material, not to mention the ridiculous plot twist at the end. the only saving grace is the presence of the goddess, catherine zeta-jones.
