I don't like any of them except the captoes in the last pic, and I'm generally a Lobb fan.

I can definitely picture the asian ones selling like hotcakes in Japan, China, and Taiwan - it looks like they took the typical shoe styles prevalent in that part of the world and Lobb'd them out. With the exception of the hideous New York shoe of course.. who the f*ck would ever wear that in ny

Those Taipei shoes have Taiwanese written all over them...

I suppose now they have the entire spectrum covered from jaw droppingly beautiful to mind bogglingly disgusting.

I really question Lobb's decision to enter this market. I understand their desire to appeal to the LV, Prada, Dior Homme, Stefano Ricci, etc., crowd, but I feel that bifurcating their brand into a 'fashion' part and a 'traditional' part takes away from their gravitas as one of the most respected shoemakers. Personally, I feel less inclined to buy from Lobb the further they move away from their core demographic. I know that we [SFers] are a niche market, but I fear that with this transition their focus on quality may drop as they stretch the boundaries of design.

Tokyo's a little precious, but not in really bad taste.

And if they cost 10% of what they do, I'd think about the London boot.

FWIW, I haven't bought a Lobb shoe for about 3 years because of their increasingly weird designs. I don't have many JLPs in total (3-4 pairs IIRC) and what I have are RTW, so I'm far from their target market. But still, at least 2-3 of those were bought from Lobb themselves (not seconds/used/grey market) so there is a small legit financial impact of my disinterest in their recent collections. But I'm absolutely sure they've gained many more new sales in return from those who appreciate these designs. (PS. I agree that the Tokyo oxfords are nice, rebel.)

Personally, I naturally gravitate more towards G&G and EG now-a-days, and pay significantly less attention to Lobb due to the gimmicky designs on some of their shoes. Despite their actual quality, I have developed a negative perception of them as of late. Same way I doubt I would buy anything from Gucci or the fashiony brands. Maybe I have just developed a distrust of brands that market themselves towards the nouveau riche or fashion-centric audiences.

Now, with that said, JLPB is still the bees-knees. But their RTW collection has become much less appealing to me.

How much are these going for? Do the heels and captoes come separately? Like build your own shoe?
