I can't comment on the Plaza as I don't have any yet but I do have an Aberdeen. IMO, the Aberdeen is true to size in length. That's the easy part of the Aberdeen's fit. The harder fit is that it is quite narrow in the toebox and a bit wide in the heel. It's a tough last to get to fit correctly on width, particularly with loafers. I have long narrow feet and my toes are crowded and the heel is slightly loose. Guys with wider fit may find this to be different.

As always, YMMV. I suggest you try them on or use a vendor with a good return policy.

Again, nothing will work as well as actually putting the different shoes on your feet but I like the Aberdeen last. I am a 9 in the Barrie (I won't wear Trubalance because I think they are "bulbous" through the toe box but I am a 9 in that as well) and a 9.5 in the Aberdeen and Plaza. The Plaza is clearly wider but I prefer the sleek lines of the Aberdeen last.

If you are interested in NSTs, I believe that LS and Shoemart both carry NSTs built on other lasts (Hampton and Barrie if I'm not mistaken). Both lasts are a bit more adaptable for those concerned with the width of the Aberdeen last but IMO the NSTs look better with the longer, thinner toe box which the Aberdeen provides.

I see, thanks. They look like they had a slimmer toebox I was under the impression they were on the grant like the AF4060.

+1 all of your points. That being said, the Aberdeen does not work for me at all. Too narrow in the toe box.

I have several Aldens (cordovan) in the Barrie in 11.5D. I like the look of the Plaza and have one pair myself in a 12D. The problem is that that the Plazas have stretched a bit and they were big enough that I need an insole in the shoe. The laces also pull together much closer than I am used to.

I know the normal advice is to get a half size larger than your size in the Barrie. But is it possible that this might not apply to me with the Plaza? or would narrower be better?

I wear a low profile orthotic as well.

Thanks for the replies guys; i like the look of the cigar nst, but i don't like the look of the barrie last with the stitched toe. Much prefer the lines of the aberdeen; i'll give that a go.

Any hint on shoe number 5? I see the medallion cap toe, #4 saddle, natty cxl longwings and tanker, but what is number 5? I heard it might be another boot, but any possible details on it?

Nothing too special, just a brown chromexcel NST blucher. Also brought in a restock of the tan suede longwings.
