What do you guys think of the McAllister boots? Does anyone have a pair?

Lastly, does J Crew ever have a sale?

What? Of course there's sale, look at the post right above yours.
I am also interested in the MacAlister boot.

nice!

I bought the cable-knit wool-cashmere sweater and 2 secret wash shirts on sunday (using the 25% off on sunday). Since there was a new promotion for the 25% off + free shipping on sweaters, a lovely southern lady credited me on my shipping (placed sunday) due to the new promotion.

+1 on this. I hated my McCallisters - they offer no support, my feet were killing me by the end of the day, and the toes of the gummy crepe sole dragged and tripped me up on even the lowest-pile carpeting. I saved up for flex welt Alden chukkas and never looked back.

Alden chukkas look nice! But . . . for $600, I'm going to pass.

So, no to the McCallisters? Okay. I appreciate the feedback. Someone said to get the DB's from Clarks and I've a few pairs but I wanted to "mix" it up.

Has anyone tried or own the John Varvatos chukka boots? I think that is what they're called.

On another note, I really like the clothes at J crew. Never owned anything from them but I will make some purchases soon.

if you want a slimmer fit they offer a slim fit bowery too.

They come in an urban slim fit, but not in the heather gray color ... Atleast not according to the website.

Just got the Indy's today. They look amazing, so glad they shipped and made it through without issue. Question though, is it a good idea to apply anything to them before wearing? Snow is in the forecast for tomorrow.

Firstly I cant talk about the suede, but I do have the mcallister boots in "italian olied leather" (who knows if they are or not).

Anyways the other posters are right that they are expensive. I bought mine from a surplus retailer on ebay for only 80$. I have now owned them for 5 months and have applied two rubs of mink oil. They are breaking in great and the crepe souls have so far been durable.

Realized I hadn't used my coupon code for November. 20% off as always, let me know if anybody could use it.
