fair enough. That jacket is ugly, which is unfortunately why I love it. Got it in a thrift store back in 93 - it called to me with songs of forests and nymphs, and I couldn't resist. I dress casually at least half the week, so I'll post those fits here to get some pointers and/or lashings.

I see you wearing well made well fitted clothes in coordinating colors: mid blue, dark brown, dark green and gray.

The overall effect is what you get in any mass-market men's magazine: success at avoiding embarrassment.

There has to be more.

I understand. I think my MC fits are equally boring"”I just like blue, brown and gray very much; always have. I like it simple (see the NOBD logo). But I sometimes do other colours and I try to always keep my eyes and ears open for new ideas.

This is actually remarkably true in WAYWT contests generally. What will get heaps of praise in the normal thread, once it gets into a contest, is rarely better than 3rd best, and so never gets anyone's vote as the winner. In this case it's likely to do a bit better since you can vote for more than one person, I guess. But if it's just one vote per person, interesting to see people who take risks usually get the most props.

As for proportion...someone? Anyone? To me Aeglus looks good, but he doesn't blow me away with his fit. I see the stacking as "anti-proportional". But again, I know little of your magical world...

how does this make any sense did you even read the whole thing? i think u mad son i think mc's view is distorted like someone previously mentioned, if they actually spent time on the forum they'd be able to differentiate between the different philosophies, good/bad posters, noobs, and such...plus they are reading the subheading that mentions hoodies literally it's almost as if they read the synopsis on the back cover of a book and think they know what the book is about.

So explain...I don't think I was unclear when i said I don't get it...to me proportion="it fits"

If it stacks, its too long...hence, not fitting..."anti-"proportional.

you definitely should've posted your fit with the leather jacket from a day or two ago... not that the one you did submit was horrible...its just the one with the leather is much better

Stacks are just like your cuff rolls. They add an interesting visual element to the lower part of the fit, and they aren't necessarily just an unintended byproduct of ill-fitting jeans.

lollin at all the dad jeans; aeglus gets the vote. NYR could be a steezy dude despite his allegiance to a ****** hockey team if he changed a few things. i think he's a good example of things other than clothing determining the "quality" (for lack of a better word) of ones style.

Even "fit" is subjective. It's "too long" in the sense that it doesn't end at his ankles. It's not "too long" in the sense that it's not longer than it is desired to achieve this look. As stated, stacking is an element to add visual interest, kind of like a pocketsquare. (Trying to speak a language you can understand, here).

I think a good thing about this contest is that it seems to have effectuated a lot of cross-forum pollination which may serve to blur the distinction/understanding between the two forums. Maybe some mc'ers will be more likely to spend some time on this side and loosen up a little while we would be more inclined to visit their side as well.
