agreed, cotton will stretch to an extent (with denim stretching the most b/c of the weave).

i haven't heard that wool will stretch any?
i know maybe my cashmere sweaters stretch overtime?

I agree with you i think. Im not sure if you noticed but the top row of buttons are not level properly. I went to the dry cleaners to have all the buttons changed for brown ones as a few of the blue ones were falling off.
They did a bad job and i cant put my hands in my hand warmer pockets properly as well, as they sewed the pockets up quite badly.
So i told them and they asked me to take it back and theylll do it again.

Hey guys. Now I know this is not a peacoat (more like a cadet jacket), but I would very much like some feedback on it. I really love this coat, but I feel like there is something I got to change about it. I have already realized the sleeves might be a tad to long, so I might fix it, or just let it go. What do you guys think? FYI I am 6ft2 38 chest and 32 waist if that helps at all. Also, pics are from my macbook camera (need a new SD card reader), so sorry for the cruddy pics.

fits well, but i think the buttons are placed a bit high on the jacket.

maybe your just too tall for the cut on that jacket?

Huh, maybe the buttons are kind of high. Maybe if I unbutton the top one it will offset this a bit. Thanks

I disagree. It fits very well. Could take 1" off the sleeves though. Can you fit a sweater under there? So many fools in this thread size down so much that they can't fit more than a button down underneath.

Appreciate the feedback. Yes, there is actually a decent amount of space for a sweater. The jacket is snug, but gradually relinquishes its grip as you get to the waist. It is also an extremely thick wool, so it is quite warm, might I add. As for the sleeves: yes they probably should be taken up an inch.

Is there any consensus on how pea coats should fit lengthwise? I see some guys wearing them so they barely pass their belt and other guys wearing them way below their hips and everything else in between. How long should the sleeves be. Slightly below the wrists?

I'm 6'-2" and I'm not sure if should go with a regular or long. Regular seems to be long enough in most brands.

got my sterlingwear authentic today 38R. didn't like the fit (chest/waist fit was good although somewhat tight, sleeves felt too short) pics to come soon.

It really depends on how you are built. For me, I would say that instead of having really long legs or a long torso, they are both about average in their own regard. I find myself always wearing regular and it being sufficient. I also buy a lot of shirts and sweaters in European 48 or American S, and as long as it passes my belt, I find that they fit quite well. Remember, I am 6ft2 as well. Sometimes the sleeves might be a little too short, but if I can extend them, I do; if I can not, I usually find myself rolling up the sleeves anyway.

So my peacoat FINALLY came in and I love the way it fits! Some fit pics are posted and for reference, my sizing is; 5'7" with 37 chest.

(Had to crop some of the picture out for it to be small enough to post)
