Just reread the title of this thread, and it doesn't seem anyone has addressed the supposition of there being a fine line between dressing like and old man and GQ style.

"What about full trousers?"

sorry, I didn't think that comment through so much, but you know what I was implying.

The fine line would be it's basically the same style/type of clothes, just the little nuances and fits that set it apart, I suppose.

I think everyone's response has implied a rejection of that supposition.

Your biggest problem is the photography. It's from below your waist and shots taken from a lower angle always make people look fat. (Just as shots taken from a higher angle are slimming.) Your physique definitely isn't a problem since even if you may not be "fit" you still have a large drop.

Beyond that, contrary to what people are saying your pants may actually be too tight in the seat. (That's why the pockets are opening up like that and looking baggy.) The rise on the pants isn't ridiculously long, but it DOES look like you are wearing the pants high on your waist -- even though you are illustrating that apparently your navel falls far above the waistband. If you were wearing the pants an inch lower, the jacket also wouldn't look so long.

Obviously, the jacket could fit much better, the shirt could be slimmer in the waist and arms, and the pants could be slimmer in the legs. Gray cotton trousers, white shirt and a windowpane navy blazer aren't going to look young on anybody unless they are all very slim fitting.

In all, more than anything it seems like you have very SF-approved brands but haven't found brands that actually "work" for your body type. You need to try out some different things or invest more in tailoring.

****. I keep thinking this thread is about Cajun and Creole cuisine.

I think I have the same model of Mabitex as in one of the OP's pics. I didn't find them very slim-fitting; they are actually the roomiest pants I own. I'm thinking about taking them to a tailor. Still, I think they are less baggy on me. This is what I wore today, incl Mabitex, sans old-man. I think! Sorry for the crappy iPhone photo.

"Rise" as measured with a ruler has little to do with how "low" the pants fit. My low skinny jeans also have a 10" rise.

I can't make it through all 26 pages but has the OP been foofed yet? That would solve this whole mess.
