Yeah, when I read the blurb on the back and it mentioned "humor," I was a bit surprised. I haven't gotten far enough into it to find any yet, however.

Oh, the book is SO much better than the film. You'll get to know the characters better and there are many great scenes which didn't make it to the movie. As usual when books becomes movies.

Definetly worth reading.

I loved the movie, was disappointed in the book. It's well written, but I thought the movie had better pacing and overall mood. One of the rare occasions where I felt that the movie improved on the book.

just finished gary Shteyngart's "super sad true love story". i wanted to like it more than i did. i really liked "absurdistan." And much of the new one is terrific. but there is just an overall sourness to it, a view that is so dystopian that in the end i was just kind of glad it was over. of course, that would probably make it perfect for some people.
