Snake doesn't and he pulls it off. Agreed on it looking mad out of place, though. Dislike the palette as well.

No they wouldn't.

Actually reasonably light dark brown shoes. Fair enough on the belt. I still need to learn what allows one to get away without one (e.g. sq).

why wear a julius cardigan in a setting like that? you're still dressed better than everyone there with just t shirt and jeans.

For fun. You could use this argument for just about anything, why do the bare minimum? You should try to knock it out of the park sometimes.

That being said, I think the outfit could use some black but it's not nearly as terrible as people are making it out to be, ie minus the brown belt it looks pretty good

You can get away with not wearing the belt. Pull your tucked shirt out just enough to cover the belt loop.

+10, was going to suggest this but for some reason didn't.

What strikes me as odd is that both snake and CJew tucked their t-shirts in when wearing the same cardigan.

I also don't like how an open cardigan will often exaggerate tube-like upper body proportions.

In that case it's fine.

To me, black is a formal colour for shoes 95% of the time. Many will disagree with this, but it's personal taste.

I don't see how that cardigan is out of place. It looks just fine, even if it is (gasp) Julius. The fact that it's from an avant-garde label does not mean that you morph into a goth-ninja whenever you wear it.
