that's pretty funny. did he really think that this attention whoring would not have a strong and immediate backlash? is this Maverick Carter one of those famous high school buddies that run Lebron's business and much of his offcourt life?

All I can say is that I hope this guy never wins a ring. He is the most egotistical person in sports, and so far he has done nothing to prove his worth. His title as "king" is probably what sets me off the most. King of what?? King of scrubs who have never won anything?? I hope he breaks a leg tomorrow when walking off the stage.

Hopefully this will all have died down by next week. HOPEFULLY. Sheesh. I hate basketball to begin with; this is all too much for me to bear.

NYT front pg this a.m. said he went to Miami

When did Miami even get a basketball team? The past week I've seen guys w/ 'C'mon Lebron!' t-shirts....

He might win a ring, but it will likely be as Wade's sidekick. Lebron is certainly more skilled and more athletic, and his body will hold up better to the NBA game than Wade's. However, Lebron doesn't have the focus or drive. Lebron's mentally soft (at least relative to Wade, Bryant, Jordan, etc....). Wade will be the go-to guy in the clutch, and will carry the team. Lebron will still get his stats, but it will be as a Scottie Pippen type. They just need to pick up some shooters.

I'm obviously a Wade fan (I like tough guards - him, Kobe, Jordan, Dumars, etc.), so my dream is that Wade gets Finals MVP and James just gets to sit there and soak it up.

I get the hate because of the narcissism.

What I don't understand are the people who call him "traitor". When a player gets traded by the team it's a "business decision". LeBron James, as a free agent, only made a business decision to pick Miami instead of Cleveland because he saw more opportunity there.

I agree, that will always be Wade's team and he will always be looked at as the second option. I am actually surprised he went to Miami for this reason. I think though after a few years of this, he will start bitching like a baby and want out. There is no way he will be able to keep his ego in check for that long, no matter how many rings he can win.

Wow. Was that the front page? If so, people really need to look at their priorities when escapism overtakes real life.

Being a Rockets fan I've never really liked the Lakers, but I at least liked and respected Kobe a lot even if I hated their other players. Works hard, is a true competitor, and is the source of lulzworthy quotes like:

"I like to *** on their face, thats my thing"

I've always thought Lebron was a little ***** and I always laughed when he got knocked out of the playoffs. Now we know he's a ***** though, because he couldn't win a title for the team who drafted him and is going to be Wade's sidekick on a team where Wade already won a ring. If Lebron wins a ring now I will only laugh at him because he's doing it for someone else's team and Wade will always have one more ring than him. I still hope he doesn't win a ring and gets embarrassed by Kobe though. With Bosh and Lebron, I don't think the NBA has ever such a ridiculous combination of natural talent and a lack of competitive spirit. They'll probably get rings eventually because the top NBA teams are all in decline and with the stars from that generation teamed up there will be nobody to oppose them, but it will just be a big joke.

How come wade is somehow more a winner and competitor the past 3 seasons since he won a title? Winning a title doesn't grant people magical powers and intangibles. Why do people feel the need to analyze exactly who is #1/2/3 banana on teams and "wait, but who is the LEADER?". No one cares but you losers.

People said the same thing about the celtics about all the stupid **** like "but who will take the final shot" and "whose team is it?" and "who is the leader". During the celtics title run 2 years ago, pierce, allen, garnett, and role players all hit big time clutch shots and they seemingly traded off. Sometimes a guy would have a bad night and the others would pick them up, and rondo started being as if not more important. Did it really matter to the big 3 that rondo was probably better than them? By most people's logic that would crumble the big 3's self esteem that a 23 year old was the focal point of the team and other teams' gameplanning. Funny thing is good players, especially vets, know how to play basketball and understand the media talking points are fun and all, but not ultimately important in terms of winning basketball games.

I mean, what's more important for the heat? Everyone just playing together, working off each other and acting as a real "team" or making sure there is a strict hierarchy in terms of star status and who gets to stake 100% claim to saying "my team"? **** like that sounds stupider the more you think about it

I laugh at all the Lebron hate. People rag on him for lacking a championship... dude there are great players who are never on a good enough team to win a championship. Look how ******* deep the big championship teams have been in recent years; Lakers, San Antonio, Celtics.

Cleveland never had that type of depth.

I have seen Lebron James play in person about 20 times in various cities. He has the ability to completely take over a game. I think if the team chemistry is good, he will be able to bring home plenty of championships. When people question his "drive" or "leadership" I honestly have to wonder wtf they are talking about. Do you know Lebron or something?
