I'm looking for something bigger. I want to fly with it with my headphones, ipod, 3 magazines and business papers. I like some room and pockets to store my stuff yet not too big to take into a meeting. Ideally slightly formal yet practical.

I almost hate to say it but I may look at Louis Vuitton. Don't they have a lot of man-bag brief cases that are fairly classic (not with logos?)

I always use something like this when I am running around a city or otherwise making sales calls, meeting a client for the first time, etc.

An alternative is something zipped like this:

http://www.hartmann.com/shop/productDetail-sku-668

Maker and materials can vary according to your taste. The Hartmann links are easy to find, hence my choice.

For me, small versions of bigger bags don't work for just a meeting or day long affair.

Filson doesn't interest me. It was originally made for outdoor travel and I have a more refined look. Jack spade is fun for the beach, I have his newsboy canvas bag from 10 years ago. I'm looking for something with more function and style, probably leather.

In leather:

I guess I still have a soft spot for Jack Spade. Plus the one seems a bit more refined.

Maybe you should have another look at Berluti like a poster earlier suggested. Annoying as the brand may be, their bags can be quite interesting.

I have this bag that I have used in the past. Looks really good and is top notch quality. I may have to sell mine as I don't use it much.

I love the look of that MW-Traveler, I've been looking for a nice briefcase myself. These two by Chiarugi caught my eye:

As well as this one by Jack Georges:

Sounds rather small. It is listed as the women's line.

The Cartier is actually quite nice looking. Sleek, simple modern. The Lobb just doesn't do it for me. I would rather own their shoes than briefcases. The double buckle is too much of a gimmick look, IMO.

I'm not a fan of the Lobb bag either. The Museum calf just doesn't look good to me on the bag, although I do like it on shoes.
