About the only reason I rue the end of winter is that the horseblankets will need to be relegated to the spare closet until the leaves turn color again in the fall. Figured I'd eke out some more wear of some of my favorites over the next few weeks:

the chukka is no derby in the common sense.

Now I'm curious as well... you already know, that I want a 2/3-eyelet derby, don't you? But those are, almost like Chukkas (which I love), nearly not derbys anymore (in the traditional sense).

The pants and the shoes, sure (and I think that looks good); but not with those socks, no?

There are no belt loops, thus no belt.

Package arrive from Hong Kong today. Spoils of my January visit with Ram Keswani of MyTailor:

Summer jacket in light weight wool. Blue with cream windowpane. Mother of pearl buttons. Was supposed to come half-lined, but came fully lined. The cream buttonhole on the lapel wasn't something I specified, but on this jacket I think I like it.

Five pair of flat front trousers in assorted colors. Dark gray, medium gray, navy, tan and chinos. All flat front with 2" cuffs.

Shirts are coming in the next package. Glad these arrived since I'm meeting with Ram later this week and the jacket, while it generally fits great, needs a bit more room at the waist. I'm also going to start him on some heavy linen trousers and maybe a full linen suit (DB jacket, I think).

I have a feeling Rowrow has read some "rules" where socks match your pants (sure, but kinda boring. Red / grey is a classic look) and belt matches your shoes (correct... unless you're not wearing one, i.e. where one's pants have side adjusters and no belt loops).
