I had a very sartorially dismal winter. I really had a rough one all around. I haven't even bought anything since probably October. I am just coming around now.......I did get a chance to wear my vintage houndstooth Polo suit though, once. No pics unfortunately. [IMG]

The first set of pictures, only when the situation warrants (interviews, presentations and the like). Although, these events crop up more often than you might think if you keep busy. The second, "just for kicks" picture is how I dress a fair amount of the time; though if I'm not out and about, and just with my close friends, I throw on beat-to-hell jeans and a white shirt.

    Very elegant.
What was the occasion, and is it Maltese?

Thanks. Murder mystery party for my 40th birthday, which had nothing to do with the falcon in hand. That the falcon is Maltese is all I'm at liberty to say about its provenance. I'm sure all will understand.

The visible pin ruins it for me. You might as well duct tape it on.

Sprezzatura. Sometimes people can see my belts and shoe laces, too.

    ^ Happy 40th Alan!

I really like the above outfit as well ... is this the suit you mentioned the other day? Looks fantastic.

^Yes, thanks. It needs some alterations tweaking, but I'm not taking a flannel suit in for alterations in March.

Makes sense ... What is the provenance of the tie? I love it.

BTW, those monks are great and they go really well with the suit. I like that dark brown alden suede color a lot ...

    - Sorry DTO - there will be no GTG in HKG & SERIOUSLY COME UP WITH YOUR OWN IDEAS!
    - CUSS BOMB is just starting.
    - I remember last year us HKG based SFers got a lot of flack for trying to keep our sources to ourselves. Well this is one of many recent examples why!
    - One thing to ask advice of which tailor to use etc, but to go in & copy everything!
GET THE FUK OUT OF HERE!
    - DTO please also cease emailing me as I have put your deets in my SPAM redirect folder
    - I'm not saying that I am 100% original as I also take inspiration from what is around me
    - JUST SAYING!

A subdued shade of blue on the sweater which picks up the blue on the coat very nicely.

One more wear of the wooly before Spring. Cool and rainy today.

Hopefully better light (and photog skills) to come.

First time poster here. I suppose I cultivate a deviation from the MC norm in that I have slightly more "Thom Brownesque" proportions, but I attempt to stay grounded in the classic while dabbling with the modern.

Plus, I'm an engineering student and 18, I could dress myself in a garbage bag and still not be the least sartorially inclined person in the room.

I don't mind the shortish jacket, but the leg length on the trousers catches my eye too much. Still you're much, much better dressed than I was at 28 let alone 18 [IMG] Looking forward to more posts.

good to have you back Mike. hope everything in your world gets better.

Believe it or not the top of the doorway only comes up to my shoulders anyway - those Elizabethans were a short lot [IMG]

Looks good - nice flannel and a great coat.

    Happy Birthday.

How do you find the Sylkoil?

Thanks - the roll-neck is more grey rather than blue, but I think it works.

Looks like you're enjoying yourself. The tan, brown and blue work very well.

My new ride - quicker than a Lambo through the streets

The best Lambo i have seen.

    Superb.

I've strived for a similar look, but not got there. I need to improve my fit (and my build [IMG] ).

You make a excellent work so there is nothing to improve.

Prima! Aber warum wuerden Sie ihr Gesicht hier verstecken, wenn es auf ihren Blog Fotos sichtbar ist?

Always the same question [IMG] I have to think about ...
