The DB looks nice and typical of other Rubinaccis. I'd work on the shoes before the shirt, though fixing both would be best. The bowtie looks nicely tied.

I quite like it. The lapels are beautiful and fit seems spot on.
Too bad about the shoes, I really wish you'll reconsider your choice.

Okay, I tweaked the contrast over part of the jacket so more detail is shown:

Greg, for what it's worth, this is exactly the same cut as my other double-breasted Rubinacci jacket, just with a lower, different button configuration. What would you change about it?

Thanks for all the compliments, everyone!

Fair enough. Are you also unenthusiastic about the other Rubinacci DBs? Or only Foof's?

Maybe I missed it- have you posted pics of the jacket interior?

I'd love a shot that better catches the color of the cloth. (I realize that it's blacker than black in the right light).

Three things I guess:
(1) IMO, MR makes a much better looking SB than DB - just don't really like the narrow butttoning, among other things
(2) IMO, the 4x1 stance and these shawl lapels (especially when the width is half of the chest) accentuate the aspects of this cut that I dislike
(3) IMO, foo's body shape doesn't look good in MR's DB - looks too big on him. Compare to matt who "fills" his coat much more and IMO it's pretty striking. The proportion of foo's coat and lapels are just very unflattering and make him look excessively tiny - I mean compare the proportions of lapel real estate to overall coat real estate on the two pics...

Leave the lapels alone. Although, anyone who listens to AJ deserves exactly what they get.

I think the DJ looks fantastic mafoofan! Wow!

Having just stumbled upon this thread, I think it's a really great idea to get it quarter-lined. I'd also like an interior pic. As a musician who wears tuxedos frequently, I am highly considering doing this for my next purchase. It can get rather hot on stage.

I like the look, foo, although there appears to be some rippling from the buttoning point, over to your left side. It's probably just the lighting, but I can't tell whether or not the lapels have a black satin facing. I just had a half-lined, DB, midnight navy DJ made up with peak lapels (I had fittings done early last week and it shipped yesterday). I didn't even consider a shawl collar, but after seeing yours, I like how it softens the lines. I might have gone shawl if I'd seen your DJ two months ago.

Edit: I got mine half-lined because I expect to wear it primarily while dancing.

I like the overall silhouette but I'm not a fan of the pull that is noticeable on the left side of the jacket. It's visible on the other Ruby DB posted above. The fit is stunning with the exception of the way the cloth is pulled by the buttoning point. Not sure if it's possible to have a perfectly fitted waist suppressed jacket without it though.

Overall very nice indeed
