990 is an Alden stock model, but the current version does not have metal eyelets. I'd assume they'd switch things up over the years.

Next Brooks Brothers sale will be your best bet, though they've been limiting the discounts on the shell models lately. Alden doesn't like their shoes being discounted either.

I polished my Indy's for the first time yesterday. Used black polish. They've taken on a ton of character. Started wearing on 12-24-07 approximately.

Thanks Robin. Also, I now realize that they are a heavily patina'd #8 shell that has brownish tones. I'll be listing them soon.

Wearing my Grant last BB Black Fleece longwings for the first time today. Really like this last - much better than the Barrie. I might get all Mafoo on you guys if I could get the longwing in the Grant last in #8 and Whiskey. Just an honest big-ole gunboat. Really comfortable too.

Went by the Alden Shop in SF today. There's some cigar shell captoes on sale for $399, but not in my wide-foot size. Also spotted some #8 chukkas w/commando soles on clearance, again, not in my size.
