Most orders placed before 1pm are shipped the same day. Many NY/NJ customers get their packages the next day.

I picked up a Hickey Freeman sportshirt ($39), two HF chinos ($39 each), and a Filippa K chino ($59). I'm currently in weight loss mode and thought those were good prices for pants I might only wear for a few months.

What can I expect as far as fit and quality on the chinos, both HF and Filippa K?

filippa k is a very nice semi-luxury brand name. swedish company but most of their stuff is made in china from what i experienced.

they usually fit really slim. dress pants are so tapered they are really slim and the jackets are well cut. slim but the cut is very nice. i was going to get this navy blazer from barney's last year by them solely due to their cut.

HF i heard is very conservative and from what i tried on in terms of sportcoats they are a little boxy. the shirts i dont know.

Thanks for the info. The Filippa K pants did look a bit slim (not overly so) in the picture. I'm guessing the HF items will be a bit roomy.

If it has working buttonholes you can't take it up from the shoulder because the plaid won't match up...i learned this the hard way last year with a Borrelli sportcoat.

Got my Borrelli windbreaker today. It's fantastic. At $100 plus shipping, it represents a significant discount off the $1,200 list price.

Also packaged very nicely, shipped promptly, and overall I'm very satisfied with Gilt. I know some ppl complain about the website. I didn't have any major problems - I did experience some of the issues with things being in other ppl's carts, but that's not a problem with the site so much as it is a byproduct of the SF feeding frenzy. I'd rather have it go that way than get an e-mail the next day saying "sorry, we don't have any more of these in stock." The site is surely no Yoox.

Well done, Gilt, and thanks!

Glad to hear. I ordered the same thing, can't wait to receive it. Does yours fit true to size?

^+1. Mine's shipped, but I don't expect to get it before Monday out here in the Heartland. On the bright side, next week is supposed to be warmer, windbreaker type weather.

Are people getting emails when their orders ship? If so, I guess my order hasn't shipped yet.

I have spent a fair bit of money on Gilt. It's a good way to learn about stuff I would not have known about otherwise.

I got a pair of John Varvatos oxfords that I wear a lot, a white and warren sweater that I really like (although it was made in China), several nice Malo sweaters, and some jeans that I think were a really good price. I also got a hooded sweatshirt from Loomstate that is really nice and fits well. I also got some Robert Marc sunglasses that I like so much I went to Robert Marc to get my prescription glasses.

On the technical side, their website did not work with Chrome for a while. Also, my brother and I each had a couple of lost orders. When that happens, they can't supply the item because they don't restock the merchandise. They gave us a $50 store credit, which was nice, but one of the orders was for a pair of Earnest Sewn jeans my brother was really excited about; there has not been another Earnest Sewn men's sale since, either.

To be honest I haven't had much of a chance to sport it in front of a mirror yet as I am in the office. But I did put it on and from what I could see and feel it was a perfect slim fitting garment.

Got my windbreaker today, too. As soon as I got it out of the box I said "no ******* way". Slim fit is right: this thing is cut for a goddamn pixie. Anyway, I tried it on for s&g's, and unsurprisingly I could barely get the front zipped and my arms got stuck about halfway forward (picture the sound of a sleeve tearing away from the shoulder). Anyway, I will be glad to trade someone for a 40 (this is a "slimmmm" 38--though I can't imagine anyone who has knowingly purchased a 40 wanting to go any smaller), or will resell at my cost, I believe $110. Btw, sizing issues aside, it is quite nice and appears to be very well made.
