The adult Kirk, you mean? This is the crew straight out of Starfleet Academy, so he's supposed to be younger than the one in the original show.

This looks like something that the pure star trek fan is going to hate with a passion. I might like it.

Sylar as Spock sure needs getting used to.

Thanks for the link to the better version.

The "James Tiberius Kirk" line still bugs the hell out of me.

I'm a hardcore Trekkie and I am excited about this movie. I hate almost everything after the original series. It could have some bad points but I don't see how it could be worse than Next Generation movies.

+infinity I do my best to pretend that Next Gen (the Star Trek with a song in its heart) never existed and the same with Star Trek: Quantum Leap and Star Trek: Spenser for Hire. I have high hopes for this one.

I thought Star Trek: Deep Space Nine got really good after they started to leave the station -- particularly the war years. Am I the only one who actually liked Enterprise?

I tuned in at the beginning (eternal optimist) and thought it was better than Voyager, which I found unwatchable. But then I drifted away during all the Time War stuff. I came back for the final season, when they overhauled the show, and thought it was much better. Of course, that's when they canceled it.

Yeah, when they knew they were going to be canceled at the end of the season they threw away the safety net and just indulged themselves. Some of the best episodes were the result.

I can't see how they would make somebody as young as this Kirk the captain of the enterprise.

Does having that as a sticking point make me a nerd?
