Really? Good news. I've always thought of Toronto as a high-end, sartorial wasteland. Any store in particular? Thanks.

It is a wasteland for the most part. I remember seeing Santonis at Via Cavour in the Hazelton Lanes. I'm not very familiar with their shoes, but I recall some being the handmade ones.

For English shoes, Holt Renfrew carries Barker Black, which are incredibly overpriced, and Churches, which are incredibly overpriced and of low-ish quality. You can get John Lobb as well as Edward Green shoes in Montreal at L'Uomo.

I'm actually no longer as convinced of this as I used to be. There's quite a lot of fairly high-end clothes to be had around Yorkville (esp. Italian brands). The real problem, to my mind, is the mark-up -- everything's just ridiculously overpriced, and there are far too few deals. And for shoes, the offerings really are dire.

Here's some shoe damage. How do you remove ink? Just use darker polish to cover it?

Saphir sells ballpoint ink remover for leather. Look online for it or talk to a cobbler.

OT I like your avatar, I store my ties in a similar fashion, just in a leather box.

Sorry, I didn't take photos of the shoes I got this evening, but the attached photo is one I found exactly like the pair I bought. They're Sutor Mantellassi and appear to have been worn only indoors. The price? $230.

Which RL sale did you get those Montgomery's from? What city and store?

What was the final cost?
