As a business owner for over 30 years I suggest that unless you plan to sell the business in 5-7 years that you should use your name (or a middle or family name derivative if you have an awkward last name as many of us have). It is your very best brand. Often other names will begin to sound contrived or pretentious. Clever names may become passe.

If your name just won't work (too hard to spell, your name is Ralph Lawren, or other problems) then try something totally unrelated to fashion or clothing. Most trademarks and website domaines are already taken that are obvious names. Most people find they need to combine two unrelated words to make it work.

When presenting your "brand" consider doing it with plain sans serif type, free of italics. Check out the type used by Thom Browne or Tom Ford (or countless other successful designers) there is a reason they use such modern, classic type. If your typeface is too stylized it competes with whatever style of apparel you are selling.

Good luck. I admire anyone venturing off into the exciting world of starting their own business.

"Michael 1981"

I like it when there's an unexplained number in there...

What part fo Toronto are you in? It's nice to give a nod to where you're from. Maybe York Clothiers or Scarborough Clothiers or wherever. Or instead of 'Clothiers', use 'Made-to-Measure', 'Tailoring', etc.
